It will need to be pressed fair evenly between these manic and shutter-speed teeth
A separate kind of courage altogether necessary, kind which can somehow manage to blind his ‘what-if?’ mind
Momentarily will do just fine
An utterly unkind, harassed life choosing, rather longing to be irreversibly sounded right the whole way out
He pushes the trigger but never enough, accidentally touching back upon those ‘what-if?’ thoughts once more
And the shy gun falls away by his frozen side
The need to breathe proving too harassingly obvious all of its own
