An atrocious waste, 20 years imprisoned and he didn’t do a damn thing wrong, except maybe lend an ear
Those of you far more critical will think this to be enough, that he dipped a toe too far, a surprisingly fresh undercurrent snapping at his heels
The wrong person. In the wrong place. At the wrong time.
What his warden told him, before swiping his jaw with a hardened elbow – signs of psoriasis didn’t help
He held his own, ironed other prisoners laundry, rather well the ones who ruled with an iron fist, the same wary warden informed him that he would need to grow a most robotic backbone, breakable, but fixable too
