Mornings at his day job
Serving up coffee
To college classes
Evenings at the circus
Entertaining the masses
Clowned about with students
A far more serious face
When it came to donning the costume
So as to impress
Ringmaster Prudence
An odd one
Because it really should’ve been
The other way around
Smiled when necessary
Frowned when he took a break
The out and out headache
But he wouldn’t make a sound
All too used to it
Dragging his over-sized shoes
Through the pit
