Three steps over that threshold
And there I was right at work
Three more steps over that same threshold
And there I go on my way home
Back and forth, back and forth it went
In between my constant paying of rent
Eating cereal and arguing with brain-dead neighbours
Telling them just how wrong they could be
In the end all it ever went back to was
Three steps over that threshold
And there I was right at work
Three more steps over that same threshold
And there I go on my way home
How simple was it really
The rationale of it all
Probably too simple in theory
For my worryingly fast mind to remain on the ball
