Just the way it is, every time I try and unwind, let these sun-soaring days peel me to pieces
Each of us has a job to do but you do yours oh so very badly
Tempestuous at best, with your bottle of cracked Chardonnay resting against your beating alcoholic chest
Me with my barbecue at full heat, taking my feet on some kind, any kind of another mission
With your permission I ask you this, can I invite on over the harrowing neighbours – for I feel that they will bring a certain degree of relativity
To remind us all of just how lucky we might actually be
When the shoe is placed upon the other foot
And, suddenly, your every word doesn’t make me want to kill you
