I did alright, didn’t I?
Life can be like that sometimes
I mean, truth told, deep deep down I knew I was right
Cruel, more often than not you and yours kicked about the place just like the proverbial mule
Go-getters with one too many eyes on the prize, prepared to break all of those rules
Misguided in the first place, win-at-all-costs cretins, far beyond smitten with what they might like to call the unwritten rule
Runs right out and before you know it you turn out middle-aged and terribly alone
Not so much as earning rather spurning your stripes
Lost and nauseatingly forlorn, the floundering rottweiler, once a prime and telling example for all to see, now minus any such bone to call his own
