Saturday at the exhibition at Grey Heron. Now that was tough. But well worth doing but… tough. I know the readers were really impressive and stuff and I am truly so grateful to them for helping me out. Often I really do end up thinking, how in the name of Christ did you survive that? Not only survive it but maybe even actually make an impression. That’s one of the most cruel things with the ocd. That you can be saying all this stuff, doing all this stuff, and it will feel like a miracle that it’s not falling apart all around you because, well, your mind’ s been expecting it to for so very long a time anyway. It’s like a dip in at the deep end even if, maybe, residing over a local exhibition for your poetry might not even normally be difficult but rather just an utter enjoyment. I guess I’ll see with time how that one lands, as in what things I enjoy and what actual real things make me nervous, anxious, etc. You really gotta place all the chips on the table on this one, for ocd’s sake.
