Yeah, I guess you kinda are working off an entirely separate hymn sheet to most of those around you. It can be hellish and okayish and also very much so a blessing in disguise – the OCD. But literally trying to ‘kill’ such a colossal and complex disorder takes… patience and more of it, and even then you may well end up finding your brain asking to be calmed. “Hmm… it’s anxious, so why wouldn’t I try and make it feel calm?” That is precisely the part in the whole OCD thing wherein the sufferer has to just let it all be there, and by be there I mean the non stop fear and “something disastrous IS gonna happen. I have to, HAVE TO stop that from occurring.” Your brain has been utterly tricked into a false and emotion filled anxiety, and besides finally having that particular part of the sufferer’s brain rewired, the sufferer really is in a mental situation where they have to… keep moving around the OCD. That’s gonna feel eerie as shit when your mind is on heightened alert to absolutely nothing whilst the day happens painstakingly mundanely around it. It is happening exactly where all the mental faculties are for thinking straight, making minute by minute decisions, so when you are in fact feeling good that’s gonna literally be the make or break. But it won’t just turn off. It’s not like, say, “if I do eventually end up climbing Everest at least then it’ll be achieved.” Move on to another thing, whereas with the OCD, even if you are living extremely well with it it’s never really… over. So what that means is your brain and therefore mind is living with a state of, at best, underlying “what if?” anxiety, maybe. So if that is the case you’ll have to just see it for what it is. But none of these posts will ever take it out of me, the OCD imbalance. How I explain it won’t either. Its frightening fucking levels. But even if it can be extremely frustrating and mind-altering, and pain-filled, it still is, for the sufferer, how they deal with all of it going forward. Every step of the way. Anyhow. You can’t stop it but you absolutely can live bewilderingly well with it too 😃
