It will always, always, it seems, be impossible to truly explain the dangers of OCD on a sufferer’s mind. What we have to do, more often than not, to get through a day is… hmm, about a thousand times the thinking of anyone else, really. Laborious is a good word to use, I guess. Can’t explain the pain but can explain the utter hostility of this disorder. It’s a wrecking ball inside of your head type of falsified anxiety, happening quite often from the moment you awake and trying to get stronger and stronger throughout the day. It’s bear-grip is utterly unmatched and also utterly unforgiving. The sufferer will feel as though they are walking through a mental blaze of fire, a crazily chaotic state of discombobulated mind having been initially and continuously provoked by the imbalance, which inevitably ends up CONVINCING them to search for the emergency inside of, let’s say, their imagination that is ALWAYS happening. And if we do not figure it out? Well, the thing is we won’t ever be able to figure out something that isn’t even occurring. Except of course inside of our minds and brains. The very things we need ONE MILLION PERCENT to navigate ourselves through each day, week, month, year. But the sufferer’s well-being has to be prioritised here above all else, I think. Because even if we are able to live rather well with it, chances are it will still play a huge part in our lives. We will need to take it slower than most people, which isn’t ideal but it is what it is. In fact, often much slower at that. But we will have accepted that way with things a very long way back. Basically we are tasked with needing to teach our very own mind how to trick an imbalanced brain toward, well, balance and calmness, really. Little bit all over the shop right there, huh? A sufferer deserves patience and utter, utter respect because what they are tasked with is perhaps one of the greatest mental challenges a person can, well, imagine. This is extremely true. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not all 🥱 But it is all we know to a large extent 😊 Like you’re trying to strip a building and repaint the whole thing brand new, is what you’re doing with your mindset, personality, etc. At least in so far as feeling these things for yourself goes 😊
