I remember cycling over this very bridge in 2004 in college and roaring at the top of my lungs for the ocd to stop. Seventeen years ago. I also remember every inch of every single second of every single day, wishing… begging it away. Phoning my mother at home and telling her to save me from my mind. I roamed those streets and through that whole summer in so much mental pain that, honestly, I cannot believe I am still here. It’s just not mentally normal to have withstood this level of mental anguish and on a constant basis of time and for that long. Putrid, and it was happening the same… for ten years before that too.
