You’re matching nothing together. Not until the balance actually feels right and good. Otherwise, the suffer should have absolutely no business whatsoever in entertaining what is actually happening to their brain. That isn’t easy because, well, you didn’t choose the imbalanced settings of said brain. But your actual only job as an ocd sufferer to do is, to stay silent and even, maybe, let the intrusion discombobulate your brain and just hope that is doesn’t once more take utter grip of your mind. Because that’s what ocd does- it destroys your rationale, your normal working brain, literally taking your every comfort and control of mind entirely away. Freakish and perverted and certainly out of this world, is what it is. Yeah it gives you a ridiculously open minded approach to things. But there does come a time when not only do you deserve to rest your mind, but you actually need to. Because otherwise, well, you might just find yourself possibly looking at another three decades of being mentally distanced as far from reality as humanly imaginable 😀 That is all any loved-one of a sufferer of ocd needs to do and know, really.
